Our History

Founded with a deep commitment to improving the lives of individuals affected by sickle cell disorder, Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN) has been at the forefront of advocacy, research, and patient care since its inception. Established to address the overwhelming burden of sickle cell disorder in Nigeria—home to the largest population of people living with the condition globally—the Foundation has played a pivotal role in driving awareness, fostering innovation, and providing comprehensive support systems. Through a dedicated approach that encompasses education, treatment, and community engagement, SCFN has made significant strides in alleviating the challenges faced by those living with sickle cell disorder, while also championing policies that promote better healthcare outcomes. Today, the Foundation continues to be a beacon of hope and a leader in the global fight against sickle cell disorder.
